Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Signal-Lab collects, uses, stores, and protects information from users of our platform. By accessing or using Signal-Lab, you agree to the practices described here.

What We Collect

Signal-Lab collects two categories of data:

Account and licensing data: This includes your email address and the information required to verify and manage your product access. This data is used only for authentication, license validation, and support.

Content and performance data: To deliver automated analysis, Signal-Lab connects to your social media platforms and stores the performance and content data returned by those connections. This data powers the insights and direction the platform provides.

We collect only what is necessary to operate the service.

Upon purchase, Signal-Lab grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the platform under the following conditions:
Scope of use: A single purchase covers one (1) brand or business — meaning one dashboard environment. Additional brands require separate licenses.
Restrictions: You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, reproduce, or commercially exploit Signal-Lab or any part of it without prior written consent.
Your responsibility: You are solely responsible for how you apply the platform's outputs. Signal-Lab provides analytical direction — final decisions and their outcomes rest with you.

How We Use Your Data

Data collected by Signal-Lab is used strictly for the following purposes:
‣ Providing access to the Signal-Lab platform
‣ Validating your license and account status
‣ Running automated performance analysis on your connected content
‣ Delivering insights, trend detection, and strategic direction
‣ Providing technical support when needed
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for commercial or marketing purposes.

Platform-Specific Data Disclosures

Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads)
Signal-Lab requests the following Meta permissions, used strictly for read-only analytics purposes:
pages_show_list — to identify which Facebook Pages you manage
pages_read_engagement — to retrieve post content, follower data, and Page metadata
read_insights — to retrieve reach, impressions, and engagement metrics for your Pages
ads_read — to retrieve ad spend and performance data for display in your dashboard
Signal-Lab does not request permission to publish content, manage messages, or perform any write operations on your Meta accounts. Our use of Meta data complies with the Meta Platform Terms (https://developers.facebook.com/terms/). Meta data is not used for advertising targeting, not sold to third parties, and not used to train machine learning models.

TikTok
Signal-Lab uses the TikTok Display API and requests the following permissions:
user.info.basic — to retrieve your TikTok display name and avatar for account identification
user.info.stats — to retrieve follower count, likes count, and video count for your scorecards
video.list — to retrieve your public videos for the Content Performance grid
Our use of TikTok data complies with the TikTok Developer Terms of Service (https://www.tiktok.com/legal/page/global/tik-tok-developer-terms-of-service/en). You can revoke Signal-Lab's access to your TikTok account at any time by going to TikTok → Settings and Privacy → Security → Manage App Permissions, and removing Signal-Lab from the list.

youtube.readonly — to retrieve channel and video data
yt-analytics.readonly — to retrieve views, watch time, and engagement metrics
userinfo.profile — to retrieve your display name for account identification

Google API Limited Use Disclosure: Signal-Lab's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements. Data obtained through Google APIs is used solely to provide the Signal-Lab service to you. It is not used for advertising, not transferred to third parties for unrelated purposes, and not used to train AI or machine learning models beyond what is strictly required to deliver the service.

Human Access to Your Data

Signal-Lab is a fully automated platform. Your connected content and performance data is processed algorithmically to generate the analytics and insights displayed in your dashboard. No employee or contractor of Signal-Lab routinely accesses your raw social media data. Authorized personnel may access data only in limited, specific circumstances — such as investigating a verified technical error, responding to a support request you have submitted, or fulfilling a legal obligation — and only to the minimum extent necessary to resolve the issue.

Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of your content and performance data at all times. Signal-Lab stores this data to operate the platform on your behalf — not to claim, monetize, or repurpose it. Your data is yours.

Data Storage and Security

Content and performance data is stored within Signal-Lab's infrastructure solely to power platform functionality. We apply industry-standard administrative and technical safeguards to protect all data in our possession.

No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure. While we take commercially reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to maintain appropriate security practices on your end as well.

Third-Party Integrations

Signal-Lab connects to third-party platforms — including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and YouTube — to retrieve performance data. Your use of those platforms remains subject to their own terms of service and privacy policies. Signal-Lab is not responsible for the data practices of third-party providers.

Data Retention and Deletion

Account and licensing data is retained for as long as your account remains active or as required to fulfill our service obligations. Content and performance data is retained for the duration necessary to provide ongoing analysis.

You may request deletion of your data at any time. To submit a deletion request, please visit our dedicated Data Deletion page at: https://signal-lab.io/data-deletion

Alternatively, you may contact us at support@signal-lab.io with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." Upon a verified deletion request, we will remove your data from our active systems within 30 calendar days, unless retention is required by law.

You may also revoke Signal-Lab's access to any connected platform at any time through that platform's own security or app permission settings.

Your Responsibilities

Data collected by Signal-Lab is used strictly for the following purposes:
‣ Ensuring you have the necessary rights and permissions to connect your platforms and share that data with Signal-Lab
‣ Managing internal access to your Signal-Lab account within your team or organization
‣ Ensuring your use of the platform complies with applicable local and international data regulations

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Updates take effect immediately upon posting. Continued use of Signal-Lab after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
